Trucking

Power for trucking and freight haulage

We deliver high power, compact solutions for transporting heavy payloads under all road conditions.

The problem

The challenge for the trucking industry

Infrastructure constraining transition

The cost savings from electrification are constrained by existing grid infrastructure for charging.

Electrification and performance

Power solutions must provide the power to carry heavy payloads and the energy density to operate long-range.

Keeping trucks moving

Operators need to minimise downtime for recharging so trucks and their freight keep moving to their destination.

Benefits

How Ternary solves trucking industry challenges

Key operational benefits for trucking and haulage operators.

A flexible power solution

Converter units can be fitted to existing engine bays.

Maximizes payload

Our compact converters enable the greatest volume of freight carried and the power to handle heavy payloads.

Enables decarbonisation at scale

Ternary fuel bypasses constrained grids and avoids the downtime required with battery recharging.

Low cost to adopt and operate

Ternary’s fuel system is low cost, safe and uses existing fossil fuel infrastructure to deliver, store and pump liquid electricity.

We've Got Answers

Don't have the answer you're after?

Get in touch and we'll get back to you.

Is your system essentially a battery technology?

Our solution transfers electricity through a liquid carrier that can be charged and discharged. This combines the recharging capability of batteries with the speed of a diesel tank fill. No dangerous or difficult to handle hydrogen, no lithium.

How do you achieve zero emissions?

We never combust the liquid carrier. It carries the electrical charge which is released in an electrochemical conversion process. The system is designed as a closed loop so all by-products are contained.

Who provides the liquid carrier?

The liquid carrier is based on commodity chemicals widely used today. Ternary has developed technology to recharge this liquid carrier, creating and endless supply to keep your world running.

What power output is your solution capable of delivering?

Our system is being designed to deliver a range of power from 50kW to 100's of MW. The system is modular by design so units can be linked to provide greater scale for power hungry locations such as remote mining, port environments or large construction sites.

Which industry customers are currently interested in the solution?

Designers, builders and operators wanting to eliminate their dependence on diesel are ideally suited to using Ternary technology.

How can I provide my business data to understand the benefits for me?

You can arrange a tailored feasibility and initial cost benefit assessment with Ternary’s team. Complete the form here and we’ll arrange to discuss.

What other industries do you serve?

Ternary technology can be used anywhere energy is needed, and cannot be obtained through a direct grid connection. Take a look at our other industry pages to learn more.
